Foods That Vegans Do Not Eat

You may ask yourself.. what do vegans not eat? What foods do vegans not eat?

To put it simple.. Vegans do not eat ANYTHING that comes from animals. Meaning that vegans don't eat meat, vegans don't eat eggs, vegans don't consume milk, no honey, no cheese, no butter and no fish etc..

Any food made from animals, vegans choose not to eat. Also most vegans will choose not too use or buy products made from animal materials like leather jackets or fur coats as best they can.

This also means that vegans do not eat anything containing any of these products. For example.. most chocolate contains milk, cookies contain butter, maybe even eggs. Even vegetarian products like Quorn the meat substitute contains eggs. If its got something from an animal in the recipe, vegans won't eat it. Which means, a lot of time spent reading ingredients when shopping when you first become vegan and your settling in!

Don't let this stop you from becoming vegan though if your on that path. You would be AMAZED at how good many vegan substitutes can taste. If theirs something you love to eat, chances are their will be a vegan substitute that tastes really good! Just as their is with non vegan food, their are so many options of snacks, treats, meals etc.. you can have pretty much anything you want on a vegan diet and i'm sure you will find things that even taste better than your ordinary treats containing animal products. Plus its pretty much guaranteed to sit better in your system and be better for your health.

Vegans will generally use soy or bean products as a meat substitute because of the texture and flavour. You would be extremely surprised at how close the resemblance can be in some soy 'meat free' products.
