1. Bananas

2. Gotu Kola

Gotu Kola is said to be good for mind, body and spirit. For many centuries, gotu kola has been a mainstay of both the Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) healing systems. Botanically known as Centella asiatica, and also referred to as Asiatic pennywort, this member of the parsley family has been used in TCM to treat kidney failure and malaria, as well as a variety of skin conditions – including leprosy. In Ayurveda,, where it is known as brahmi, gotu kola is prescribed for similar purposes. But, gotu kola may also have potent psychological and mental benefits, such as the power to improve cognitive abilities, reduce anxiety and enhance longevity.

Researchers have long been aware that gotu kola has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat symptoms of depression and anxiety; now, medical studies are confirming the herb’s efficacy.

The University of Maryland Medical Center cites a study in which two 500-milligram doses of gotu kola, every day, over two months significantly reduced anxiety in human volunteers. A testament to gotu kola’s sedative and calming effects is the fact that UMMC warns against combining gotu kola with any other herbal or prescription sedatives.

3. Spirulina

Spirulina contains all the B - Vitamins, possibly even B-12. However they're are debates on whether the B-12 from spirulina is sufficient. B vitamins are known to be good for mental health, which is where anxiety comes from. Get yourself some b vitamins for more energy and potentially a clearer mind.

4. Nuts & Seeds

Nuts and seeds are good for anxiety because of the high magnesium content and likely other reasons. Magnesium is known to help calm the body, be great against stress, regulate bodily functions and can certainly help with heart palpitations! Hemp seeds & Brazil nuts being a top choice. Brazil Nuts are claimed to be the best nuts for the nervous system which is connected to anxiety. “Hemp has the perfect ratio of fatty acids,” says Dr. Oz who adds that a second thing hemp seed does is that it helps fight stress and anxiety. “Hemp seed actually helps reduce your stress by affecting a very important element in your body called magnesium,” says Dr. Oz

5. Mango's, Oranges, and Blueberries (Vit C) and lots of them!

Vitamin C is known to help reduce cortisol levels and have SO many other positive affects on the body. Cortisol is the natural stress hormone, so the high vitamin c doses may not cure your anxiety but most certainly will help with the stress it can cause to your body.
